Devon Jubilee Events

The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations in celebration of HM The Queen’s 70 year reign will include an extended Bank Holiday weekend from Thursday 2nd June through to Sunday 5th June to allow everyone to get involved and celebrate.

This page will be regularly updated to keep you informed of any events happening in the County, if you are holding an event yourself, let us know so that we can share the details.

Thursday 2nd June

The City of Exeter is marking the Queens Platinum Jubilee with a street party which will take place in the High Street. A Military and Community Village will also take place on the Cathedral Green. During the evening, the Lord Mayor and the Exeter Sea Cadets, will join the Nation in lighting a beacon on the Quay. We hope both residents & visitors to the City will come along and join in all the celebrations.

Newton Abbot Beacons. Afternoon, Town Centre.

Torbay Beacon Lighting –  Lighting of The Queen’s Jubilee Beacons   As part of a series of over 1,500 beacons across the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man and UK Overseas Territories, the beacon at Corbyn Head will be lit by the Civic Mayor accompanied by a Piper. The beacons at Daddyhole, Shoalstone and Berry Head will also be lit by Coastwatch, Brixham Town Council and Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust.

9.45pm Beacon lighting at Orcombe Point, Exmouth

 7:45pm finish 9pm official lighting of the Brixham beacon as part of the national Tribute to HM Queen. This will be held on the Shoalstone Green ( above our outdoor seawater swimming pool) with musical tributes from Town Band and Scottish Piper.

9.30pm Beacon lighting in Sidmouth location to be confirmed.

4pm – 10pm – Community Picnic and Beacon lighting at Cliff Field Gardens, Seaton with live music, entertainment and activities for children.

Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce running Street Parties in Church Street and Old Fore Street with music including the Town Band.

Stoke-in-Teignhead  1400  Family Picnics followed by an evening dance in the Village Hall        2145   Beacon Lighting above the village,

Buckfastleigh –  Tikka’s Afternoon Tea in aid of a local charity, Fore Street Jubilee themed window dressing competition with children’s spot the animal in the window trail

Friday 3rd June

Torbay Music on the Meadows – Timing: 11am until 10.30pm – A community festival will be created on Torre Abbey Meadows, with a full day of family entertainment and celebration of the Jubilee Weekend. Expect musical bingo, pop-up theatre and memories and acts remembering the many decades of Her Majesty The Queen’s reign, on the big screen.  To complete the day, The Bootleg Beatles will headline the main music stage. The original The Beatles tribute band have performed over 4,000 times since the 80s and are one of the best-loved tribute acts in the world.

1045am-finish 1pm  Brixham`s Coronation parade of RBL, Veterans, Voluntary and Community  Groups  There follows a public  Service of Thanksgiving for the reign of HM Queen, followed at 12 Noon  by a Civic Lunch reception in the Scala Hall

During the weekend Sidmouth will be hosting the International Jazz and Blue’s Festival.  https://sidmouthjazz.com/

Buckfastleigh •  Town Council free afternoon tea with vintage quiz and music in the Town Hall, free concert in St. Luke’s Church showcasing local musicians, groups and choirs

Saturday 4th June

English Riviera Airshow – 10am to 6pm – Paignton Green  English Riviera Air Show – 2-5 June 2022  The airshow will deliver an action-packed flying programme on both Saturday and Sunday, with a selection of cutting edge and beautiful vintage aircraft taking to the skies. The Event Village will feature air display team stands where visitors can meet the pilots, and local and national traders offering everything from artwork and books to toys and furniture, family activities, a fairground, food stalls and bars

Stoke-in-Teignhead   13.00 Stoke Road Big Jubilee Lunch

Buckfast Abbey – special Mass to celebrate the Jubilee at 12.00 followed by lunch and a party at 13.15

Buckfastleigh – Wildlife and nature event at the Orchard Millennium Green with a variety of stalls

Sunday 5th June

7pm -finish 8pm Church Service at the world famous All Saints​ Church, Brixham.  This is the closing event with tributes and prayers for HM Queen.

Jubilee Party in the Park. Newton Abbot, all day.

Torbay Jubilee Flotilla of water-craft. Taking to the water in the bay, celebrated and private vessels will represent all parts of the area’s coastal community – with visitors invited to watch from the shores as the water teems with maritime action in celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Torbay, Paignton Green  from 2pm, “The Big Lunch” will  take place – a giant airshow street party where visitors can look forward to a celebratory picnic with friends and family on Paignton Green. There will be a range of high quality food and drink outlets to grab a bite and watch the many flying displays.

Buckfastleigh –  A special church service in St. Luke’s Church to include the local scouts, brownies, guides, youth clubs etc, Picnic in the park at the Orchard Millennium Green and Jubilee Dog Show at the football ground.  Be Buckfastleigh to host a variety of children’s activities and workshops in Victoria Park dates
