Anniversary messages and birthday cards from HM The King
For those who have had birthdays and anniversaries since the death of the Late Queen, here is an update on the situation:
“We have just resumed operations, we have around 450 cards leaving today [21 Oct 2022] for belated/upcoming birthdays. We will be arranging messages for all the birthdays that were missed, these should all be issued within the next 2 weeks. Our website should also be updated shortly with some more information.”
Each year, thousands of birthday and wedding anniversary cards are sent on behalf of The King to people celebrating significant birthdays and wedding anniversaries.
The delivery of these messages is arranged by the Anniversaries Office at Buckingham Palace, continuing a tradition which goes back to 1917.
Cards are sent to those celebrating their 100th and 105th birthday and every year thereafter, and to those celebrating their diamond wedding (60th), 65th, 70th wedding anniversaries and every year thereafter.
Who is eligible
and how do I apply?
Only current citizens of Commonwealth realms (countries where The King is Head of State) or UK Overseas Territories are eligible to receive messages. The King’s congratulatory messages consist of a card containing a personalised message and come in a special envelope.
To make sure that a message is sent, an application needs to be made by a relative or friend in advance of the special day.
For both birthdays and anniversaries follow the link below.
