On Wednesday 5th August, The Lord Lieutenant of Devon attended the North Devon Show, held in Umberleigh. There, he met with Christian Hocking, one of his first cohort of Lord Lieutenant Cadets in 2015.
Christian is now working in his family business of Hocking’s Ice Cream, which was founded by his Great Grandfather, Dave Hocking, in 1936. He joined the business in 2020, 5 years after serving as a Lord Lieutenant Cadet.
The business owns 19 ice cream vans covering North Devon, including Appledore, Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe, Northam Burrows, Torrington and Westward Ho!
