On 25th June, the Lord Lieutenant of Devon awarded Moo Free with their King’s Award for Enterprise in Promoting Opportunity.

Moo Free is a Devon-based company founded in 2010. It is a family run business which manufactures dairy free chocolate. Their initiative provides an inclusive environment offering opportunities to people who need them. In practical terms, this means providing genuine workplace opportunities to people who have autism.

Their employment offers equal salaries and treatment, with opportunities to grow in skills, confidence and thereby increasing employment and social opportunities. The result is that 20% of their workforce are known for having a form of autism with an average of 10 people with a physical or mental disability being helped each year. Thirteen jobs were also retained for more than a year with one apprenticeship secured.
