On Tuesday, 25th October 2022, an alder tree was planted by His Majesty’s Vice Lord Lieutenant of Devon, The Countess of Arran MBE, who is a representative of the North Devon Council and Ilfracombe Town Council.
She was accompanied by the Deputy Member of the United Kingdom Youth Parliament, Tymek Kiliszek, as well as Ilfracombe’s Community Resources Group, representatives from The Earth Repair Shop, and Clive Thomas, who is a local retired vicar who gave his blessing at the gathering.
Members of the public gathered to watch the tree planting in honour of Her Late Majesty and the legacy of The Queen’s Green Canopy.
