The planting of a variety of fruit tree saplings and other broad leaf trees in support of the QGC initiative. The trees are located in the Down Thomas recreation ground behind the community’s Silver Jubilee Hall. (King George V silver jubilee). An endless supply of tea, coffee and cake (and I also confess to an egg banjo) was on hand courtesy of the DT village committee and the WI. About 20 well motivated volunteers were on hand to help with the operation organised and supervised by the Park Life SW team.  The aim was to plant 200 broad leaf whips by the end of the day.  In partnership with the Woodland Trust, Park Life are planning to plant up to 6000 trees in the South Hams by the end of the year. Recording of these on the QGC website will be done on completion of the project at the end of the year.
